Catching Up with My Life: An African American Uncovers Her Roots in Germany
Ruth received her BA in Psychology from Oberlin College, her MSW in clinical social work and law degree from Case Western Reserve University. She has been a parole officer, a clinical social worker and a Legal Aid lawyer. She currently is Associate V.P for Human Resources at Vassar College. She has been an adjunct associate professor at Smith College School of Social Work since 1996. Her community service has included board membership on national organizations and community social service agencies. In 2010 she returned to the orphanage, reviewed her adoption file and experienced the black German Bundestreffen.
