of Frankfurt/M, received her doctorate from the University of Osnabrueck and taught English, Literature and Women’s Studies at the Oberstufenkolleg at the University of Bielefeld. She is the author of two books and numerous essays and has given lectures on racism, feminism, literature and the works of Black women in Germany and abroad. A translator of essays and poems by Audre Lorde, she also is one of the protagonists in the film Audre Lorde – The Berlin Years 1984 – 1992, for which she developed a study guide.
