Berlin · Black feminism, arts & collective care
Soul Sisters Berlin is a diasporic Black feminist collective whose work has connected Black women and femmes through community organizing and creative exchange. Established in 2014, it grew from relationships among Black women seeking spaces for connection and mutual support.
Co-founders include Cienna Davis and Nasheeka Nedsreal. Documented activities include performances, hair workshops, discussions, social gatherings, and arts retreats. The collective’s performance Mirror Mirror was presented during the 2017 Republik Repair festival at Ballhaus Naunynstraße.
Soul Sisters Berlin’s history shows how artistic practice, everyday care, and Black feminist organizing can create belonging across the diaspora. The resources below document the collective and its organizers; they are useful starting points for learning about its work.
