Audre Lorde and the Black Women’s Movement in Germany
Peggy Piesche teaches German Studies with an emphasis on Woman’s and Africana Studies at Hamilton College. Her recent publications include: Museum. Space. History. New Political Tectonics (Museum. She has published on the development of modern subjectivity in the 18th century and the German ‘Bildungsroman‘ as well as on literature and representation of ethnic minorities in 20th century German Literature (blackface tradition in GDR-Films, multicultural images in GDR-Comics, black German women authors) and on critical race and whiteness studies. She has received grants from the Volkswagen Foundation and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for collaborative projects on Black Germans and Black Europeans.
